February 7th is J Dilla's birthday. To honor him and all that he has done for Hiphop, I have decided to host a contest.

Submit your FINAL track to my dropbox

The Rules:
1) The submission must be new.
2) The track must be over 2 minutes.
3) The track must be sampled (some synth accompaniment is acceptable, however it should not be the main element)
4) The deadline is February 6th at 11:59 pm. (Talk to me if you would like to back out or are going to post the track late)

** Rules may change as issues arise **

Voting:
Voting will begin on February 7th and will run through the 14th. As soon as all the votes have been counted I will announce the winner and ship out the prize!

Actually, If you wouldn't mind spreading the word about this, I would be extremely grateful!! I love the NGHH community so I'm really excited to see what people do with the idea xD. Also I figured by adding a prize I might draw in some people who might otherwise ignore it. I'll PM you soon, there is a ton of shit I want to talk to you about.

Sampled beats essentially use loops or samples from pre-existing music, which are then chopped and reassembled in a unique way. Dilla was one of the best at it. If you listen to his music you'll hear what I mean. Type "J. Dilla - Sun In My Face" into google and you will hear what I am talking about. Also the beat that I made for the promo is an example.

Although, I'm not sure if this rule will stick around. I'll have to get a feel for what people really want to do.
